Velo-City Short extract

Velo-city

8mm film & HD. 2 screen installation. 2012

Velo-City questions the nature of how time is perceived, within the cultural phenomenon of technology & economics. Inspired by Paul Virilio’s concept dromology, time space compression based on the acceleration of technology and how it affects everything from politics, war and media, to the human body.

By exploring an array of time-space perspectives, Velo-City delves into the uncertainty of speed within the globalized world.

Developed at Copenhagen, Denmark Dansehallerne Residency
“I will have spent my life trying to understand the function of remembering, which is not the opposite of forgetting, but rather its lining. We do not remember, we rewrite memory, much as history is rewritten. How can one remember thirst?”
